OpenVMS Forum, logistics

To help you plan your stay we collected some data you might find useful.

Glow Alert: This OpenVMS event coincides with the yearly Eindhoven Glow Week, which is a outdoor light-spectacle that attracts many visitors. This could be an extra incentive to visit the OpenVMS forum, if you like these things (and large crowds for that matter). It is an evening activity (6-11pm) so it should not affect hotel availability too much, but is might limit your diner options on Monday. So, reserve ahead and arrive early to park your car.

How to get there.

Car

AVT

When driving to Eindhoven, please note that the ringway around Eindhoven is divided in two parallel roads. One (A2) will lead you around Eindhoven without exits. The other one (N2) has exits, and this is the one you should chose. The N2 offers an exit to Eindhoven Airport and it is easiest to aim for that exit, whether you come from the North or the South.

Set your GPS for this address: Torenallee 24, Eindhoven

Entering the Campus drive towards the end of the road (red chimney!) and go left or right to one of the two recommended parking garages, marked with * on the map. (note: the orginally recommended parking spots are unavailable due to construction work at the adjacent building)

The OpenVMS Forum location is marked with the green flag.

Train

AVT

When arriving by train (Eindhoven Centraal) we recommend getting on bus 401 (direction Airport) or 403 (direction Veldhoven).

In the railway station go down the stairs, to the right you find the busterminal. Exit the bus on stop Strijp-S, should be shown on the route-screen in the bus. The forum location is marked by the green flag on the map.

Purchase a ticket from the driver or use your Debit or Credit Card to check-in and check-out by presenting your card to the RFID-terminal until it beeps. Don't forget to repeat that when you get off the bus, to avoid you pay too much!

Plane

When arriving at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, go to the railwaystation at the airport. Purchase a train ticket first (towards Eindhoven Centraal). When arriving in Eindhoven, follow the instructions from the Train section.

When you arrive on Eindhoven Airport use bus 401 direction Eindhoven Centraal. Exit the bus on stop Strijp-S, should be shown on the route-screen in the bus. The forum location is marked by the green flag on the map.
