vtAlpha / vtVAX: The Green Machine

We ran an energy consumption measurement between an AlphaServer of average size and its vtAlpha equivalent. The results were significant.

A 4-CPU Alpha Server consumed 630 Watts. Its vtAlpha equivalent consumed only 230 Watts. That's 60% less energy consumption by using vtAlpha!

When you combine two of these Alphas on a single host, power consumption will drop from 1260 to 290 Watts - a 75% reduction!
